The Third Eye (or Brow, Anja) chakra is associated with self responsibility, intuition, mysticism and understanding--the ability to follow one's intuition, and see things from a viewpoint other than the viewpoint that satisfies the ego. Balance of the Third Eye chakra allows one to become the unconscious self and be part of the universe (rather than being an individual separated from the whole of the universe).

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha Chakra)
Color: BLUE
The throat chakra is related to the spirit and self expression, including speech, the communication of our needs. Moreover, the balancing of the throat chakra allows one to become truthful, diplomatic, speak with integrity and love. The two extremes of those whose throat chakras are imbalanced include those that avoid speech (i.e. those that always say the wrong things, or overeat to risk expressing their real feelings), and those that are always talking (i.e. speaking to put others down, or those that feel the need to completely dominate conversations).

The heart chakra is related to all aspects of love (love, self love, the ability to give unconditionally). A balanced heart chakra allows one to feel peace, harmony and a feeling of renewal. Moreover, the healthy state of the heart chakra allows one to bond and be respectful to others, allowing them the freedom to grow as humans. Physically the balanced heart chakra relaxes muscles and nerves. The two extremes of heart chakra imbalances include those that view love desperately and need to hold onto love to relieve their insecurities (when love is actually a need for acceptance), and those that are highly critical of others and are afraid to love because they fear losing control of their life.

The Solar Plexus Chakra, or Navel Chakra is associated with self worth--the perception of yourself, and others' perception of you. This is also the area that governs the intellect, curiosity, ego and personality. The balance of the Solar Plexus chakra allows us clarity, awareness, and stimulates curiosity and interest. This is also the area that is associated with power and our perception of power and its use.
